In San Francisco, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across California, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Both bagels I had were very good and filling. I recommend the "build your own" option so you can choose whatever you'd like. My favorite was the salmon bagel with the seasonal sun dried tomato and pesto cream cheese. The tuna bagel was okay, but the tuna spread tasted like mackerel.

I’m disappointed after ordering 2 pastrami daily specials plus a classic after raving about how much I loved these bagels. I got my order home to see no pastrami and all lox thus I didn’t get what I ordered. That’s a shame I wanted my friends to experience the same lovely texture and we didn’t get the sandwich we wanted. Lesson learned to not assume and double check the order before leaving. At these prices you’d better get what you ordered. Sadly I was visiting SF and won’t be able to return. I simply wished I got what I wanted today.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning and there was no line, and I had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. I went with a custom everything bagel with egg salad. Both were incredibly fresh and made for a very satisfying meal. The shop has a lovely, open atmosphere where you can watch the bagel making process. This does seem like a takeout spot as there isn’t really any dining space. It is a bit pricey, but given the quality and freshness, it felt well worth it. Great bagel spot in general.

Quite possibly the best place to get a bagel in San Francisco. The bagels were real tasty, they had a very good toast flavor and aroma to them. And of course only pink label cream cheese. Deliciously whipped. The bagels are moderately priced and a generous portion. Just get there early they tend to sellout. Dos bagels up πŸ₯― πŸ₯―

Simply meh. Why is it that with all the displaced New Yorkers out there the city can't come up with a decent bagel, lox, cream cheese? It didn't help that I asked for a toasted bagel, & instead got an untoasted squishy round bread thing, although I did like the Everything seasoning. Onion sliced so thin you can't taste them, skimpy lox, no flavor profile. Lots of cream cheese though. Went early on a Saturday, line went pretty fast. Simply meh.
